Abstract: Rapid high-tech development at post-crisis era results in an increasing number of hot spots in high-tech research and development as well as in fiercer international competition. With study on the changes in high-tech R&D input of major developed countries at post-crisis era, the article introduces the changes of key areas and organizational mode in high-tech R&D. It also identifies opportunities in high-tech development in China in light of the demand, development level, and opportunities brought by the next round of S&T revolution. Challenges faced in light of international competition are also identified. Then, it proposes several recommendations for high-tech development in China, including further increase in R&D input, focusing on key areas, and organizational mode innovation.
